Healing Spiced Camu Cider

There’s nothing like curling up by a toasty fire and sipping a hot cup of cider on a chilly night. This healing cider not only warms the body and soul, but contains the Brazilian superfood, camu camu. The buzz about this potent berry has spread around the world, earning it the nickname “nature’s vitamin pill” due to its antioxidant and anti-viral properties. The camu berry is one of the world’s most abundant sources of vitamin C—as much as 60 times more C per serving than an orange. It is also a plentiful source of potassium, calcium, protein, beta carotene, amino acids and powerful phytochemicals. Camu powder can be added to your favorite juices, smoothies and yogurt or enjoyed in this delicious spiced cider.


  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon camu powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • ½ teaspoon ginger powder
  • ¼ teaspoon allspice powder


Mix together all ingredients except the camu together in a pot, and gently warm over low heat for 2-3 minutes until heated through. Remove from heat, add the camu and mix well. It’s important to add in the camu powder at the end of the warming process to protect its full potential of nutrients.

Serve immediately. Makes 5 cups.
